ICS Engineering specializes in engineering services;
all kinds of engineering. ICS engages in the following forms of
Engineering Services:
Electrical and Electronic Engineering Description
Electrical and electronic engineering are very different,
yet frequently go hand-in-hand with each other. Robotics, process control
and automation are three examples where electrical and electronic engineering
come together. Electrical engineering includes the motors, servos,
conveyer belts, heaters, coolers, compressors, pumps, fans, lights and so on.
Electronics engineering includes the design and creation of electronic controls
for the purpose of controlling some of the electrical devices listed above.
Computer Hardware and Software Engineering Description
Computer Engineering usually is assumed to encompass
hardware and software, both. A computer engineer handles both of these
categories. If the engineer handles only one category or the other, they
are a computer software engineer, or a computer hardware engineer.
A computer software engineer designs and implements software. A computer
hardware engineer designs and installs computer hardware. An overall
computer engineer does both at the same time. An example of both at the
same time might be interfacing (connecting) a computer to a piece of hardware.
The hardware is first designed, then a device driver is written, telling the
computer how to make that piece of hardware work together with the computer.
This is the first step of process control and robotics.
Mechanical Engineering Description
Mechanical Engineering involves the shaping and crafting of
hardware components, typically non-computer parts, and not necessarily
electrical or electronic. Mechanical engineering can involve only, as the
name implies, mechanical parts. A clock maker would be a type of
mechanical engineer. Mechanical engineers design planes, trains and
automobiles, just to name a few. ICS Engineering performs certain types of
mechanical engineering, as it pertains to process control and robotics.
Patent Applications
ICS Engineering has the knowledge, equipment, legal and
other resources to help you put together and submit a patent application through
the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. We have a patent library nearby at
the Arizona State University that we have access to I order to expedite a
search. We, however are at the mercy of the Patent and Trademark Office
(PTO) when it comes to processing the request. No idea too small or too
big. Confidentiality assured.
Copyrights, Marks and Trademarks
These are set up much in the same way as a patent.
However, they have very different powers. You patent something "tangible",
like a machine, or physical product. A copyright or trademark is usually
described as "works of art" and "intellectual property". These terms make
all the difference. According to some changes in the rules, you can
copyright (not patent) written or recorded works simply by placing a
copyright statement in the work. An example is: copyright (c) 2000,
John J. Doe. That would be enough, and would not require filing an
application at the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO). However, filing is
recommended, as the first filer is the grantee of the copyright, over
simple copyrights. If nobody files, then the earliest date amongst them is
the grantee.
In short, ICS Engineering wants to be your
choice to handle all of your engineering needs and projects that you are
anticipating in the near future, or those projects that have been waiting for
you to get ready. Give us a call today and ask us what we can do for you,
and, more importantly, with you!
