1/01/2008:  New Content Added to our Entertainment Page.

   We have always been interested in preserving those video clips and humorous stories and content in some way, in order to prevent the loss of some very funny content.  So, we started posting video clips and jokes submitted to us to a new page we created just for this purpose:  The ICS Engineering Entertainment Page.  Recently, we have been able to post most of the Christmas and Holiday videos to this section.  Further, we have added more blockbuster movies and videos that you may be interested in viewing.  Some of this content may be password protected, either now or in the very near future.  Don't forget to apply for a user ID and password in order to continue accessing our premium content.  Other content is a Halloween Edition of Saturday Night Live, and some video clips of jokes or stupid human tricks have also been recently added.  Enjoy!  If you have any ideas for additional content on our Entertainment page, please feel free to use our feedback page to indicate your choices.

12/31/2007:  Added content to our FTP file system

   ICS Engineering has expanded our FTP file system many times over.  In order to make it easier to find software and/or utilities as you may require from time to time, we have reorganized the data on our servers.  We have added a "Mobile Applications" to our Software menu, because we deduced that not everybody is interested in only Windows Desktop files.  You can find desktop, palmtop, and web software and utilities covering Apple, Unix/Linux, Window, Windows Mobile and other desktop and mobile computing peripherals and platforms.  Additionally, we have updated our menuing system in order to make it easier to find software via our website.  A FTP client is always the easiest and preferred access method, sometimes a quick download is easier via a web page.  To this end, we have created 12 sub-topics for our available software and linked them into our Java Menuing system.  If you would like to see more or less sub-topics, or to make comments on our organization skills (or lack thereof), then please use our feedback link.

12/05/2007:  Secured Mail servers against SPAM and Malware.

   ICS Engineering has published many articles on computer and server security.  The world we live in is a very hostile world when it comes to computer and computer-related crimes.  One of the biggest obstacles ICS Engineering faces on a daily basis is security.  We have observed first-hand, how many countries not only turn their heads away from SPAM and hacking issues, but some countries even support and facilitate SPAM, malware and spyware.  The biggest infection vectors are banner ads on questionable websites.  Your computer can get infected by simply visiting an infected site.  The second most common attack vector for spyware and malware is in your email.  Sending you a link to an infected website, or including a virus or malware as an attachment to your email, then installing the malware immediately and covertly upon opening the infected email message.  To this end, ICS Engineering has installed a SPAM, virus, spyware and malware filter to our mail server.  This has cut our SPAM reception in half so far, as well as virtually eliminated our receipt of malware via email as well.  If your messages to us are bouncing, notify us and request that we put your email address in our white filter, thereby negating spam processing against your email address.  For more information, or to make a comment, use our feedback form located here.

10/05/2007:  Updated our SQL Server to SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition.

   We, at ICS Engineering consume database services at a phenomenal rate, whether for internal data storage use, or for retrieving, updating or storing web data.  Web data can be product data for an eCommerce Website, or simply, user information to control access to your website or web pages.  ICS Engineering began our database experience with an installation of SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition, with all of the modules; Analysis Services, English Search Services and Reporting Services.  We accept the reports and white papers extolling the benefits of upgrading to SQL Server 2005, Enterprise Edition.  Even though SQL Server 2000 was blazing fast, wait until you experience SQL Server 2005!  Integration and implementation have been simplified by adding a development/management environment with the server product.  No longer will you need to use third-party products in order to develop or use SQL Server 2005.  Give it a try today.  SQL Server 2005, Enterprise Edition is available for anyone who is considering an eCommerce website that would need to consume database services.  Contact ICS Engineering for additional information on our Database Services by using our online feedback form.

7/15/2007:  Added Linux Slackware Server to our network.

   ICS Engineering supports many varied and diverse operating systems on servers and workstations.  We also recognize that Microsoft is not the be-all end-all for everything IT.  There are those individuals who loathe Microsoft platforms and products.  We, at ICS Engineering have no particular preference in platforms when it comes to web services.  To that end, we have supplemented our Linux RedHat v10 Enterprise Server with a Linux Slackware v11 Enterprise Server.  Between these two versions of Linux, we feel that we can cover any type of Linux/Unix/Posix development on our networks.  For more information, or to make a comment, use our feedback form located here.
